- Do I have to give an email address?
- No. There is no account and no sign-in. Nothing you type leaves your browser unless you choose to save online, and even then only an encrypted copy is sent — the key stays in the link you are given.
- Does it send anything?
- A count of which parts of the tool get used — starting a session, saving or exporting a readout, opening the question editor. It tells me what is worth building more of. No names, no notes, nothing you typed. There is a switch to turn it off.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect entirely and the session keeps working. Your draft is kept in this browser, so closing the tab does not lose it. If you need it on a machine with no network at all, download the offline copy below — one file, no requests of any kind.
- Can I use this on a client's laptop?
- Yes, and it is designed for that. Nothing your client says leaves the machine unless you choose to save online. When you are done, one click on Discard removes the draft, any interview set aside on this device, and this browser's copy of any saved link, key included. Anything set aside and never resumed is forgotten after 30 days.
- Why does it ask about the work instead of about AI?
- Because asking people where AI would help produces a list of things they have read about. Asking what they re-key between two systems, or what they had to chase last week, produces the work itself. The interpretation is your job afterwards, not theirs during.
- What if a question does not apply?
- Skip it. A skipped question is a finding rather than a gap, and the summary counts skips separately for exactly that reason. Nothing in the tool penalises skipping.
- Is this the same as the AI Use Case Brief?
- No, they sit either side of the same problem. This one is for the room, where you are listening and typing at the same time. The Use Case Brief is for afterwards, when you have one specific task and want the value case, the control decision and a plan for it.
